Aris Limassol announces the transfer of Zakaria Sawo to Swedish side Djurgardens! Aris accepted the Swedish club's offer for the transfer of the 25-year-old striker for €1.4 million, with the prospect of the sum rising to €2 million in total, if the player achieves certain goals included in the deal.
Sawo joined our club in the summer of 2023 from IK Start, a 2nd division club in Norway from which he was acquired for €350,000. In the current season, he recorded 21 appearances with 20 of them as a substitute and in a total of 587 minutes, he scored 3 goals. In his one and a half year with the club, he made a total of 47 appearances, scoring 10 goals in the process.
The dynamic striker had signed a five-year contract with our team (until 2028) and coming to Aris from the 2nd division of Norway, he managed through hard work to increase significantly his market value. It is worth noting that teams from Sweden, Russia, Poland and Israel had also expressed their interest for signing the player.
