Aris FC start with the right foot in the first pre-season friendlies in Latvia against FK Metta prevailing 2-0, scoring a goal in each half.
Aliaksei Shpileuski gave playing time to a total of 24 players, fielding a different squad in each half. Leo Bengtsson opened the score after 29 minutes and that was the half-time score.
Aris FC continued to be aggressive in the second half and managed to double their tally with a strike from Kokorin in 83.
The score could have been higher, but in this first game our team was pretty good against a team that counts already 22 league games under their belt. Aliaksei Shpileuski however, put a lot of emphasis on the tactical aspect with the players providing a sufficient response to the coach's commands.
Ari’s starting eleven were: Vana Alves, Sané, Yago, Urosevic, Correia, Bengtsson, Sarfó, Nikolic, Semedo, Spoljaric, Theocharous (30' Kovacev). While in the second half the starting eleven were: Sofroniou, Boakye, Moussounda, Aboubacar, Demetriou, Kovacev (60' Mayambela), Struski, Matysik, Montnor, Kokorin and Gomis.
