Aris FC arrived at Riga airport shortly before 10:00AM this morning. From the airport the team was transferred to the Lielupe Hotel, which will be the team's base for the next three weeks.
It is worth noting that this is the 3rd consecutive year that Aris is holding the main pre-season stage in the Latvian city of Jurmala (25 km from the capital Riga). Both the facilities of the Lielupe Hotel and the training facilities at the Baltic Sports Village are excellent and familiar, at least for the members who were in the team last year and the year before.
The temperature in the morning upon arrival was 17o degrees Celsius and at noon 19o and climbed to 22o early in the afternoon . According to the weather forecasts, in the evening the temperature drops to 12o to 13o degrees Celsius, which makes the conditions for training, ideal.
After lunch, the players had time to rest before the first training session on Latvian soil, which started approximately at 18:00 and had a short duration (about an hour) as the coaching staff did not want to burden the players coming from the early morning trip.
From tomorrow, Tuesday, the schedule will include double training sessions in the morning and afternoon.
