Usually, the most useful conclusions come from defeats. One thing that was clear on the pitch was the difference in the readiness level between the two teams, resulting in Górnik defeating our team 4–0.
The Polish side, whose league begins in less than two weeks, played at a different pace—fresher and quicker in the duels. As a result, our team was unable to play the proactive style of football that Artem Radkov wants. The coach once again chose to give playing time to footballers who didn’t get many minutes last season.
On the other hand, it was just a friendly match, nothing more, nothing less and should not be given bigger importance than the one a friendly game deserves, regardless of the result. It should also be noted that several experienced players were absent from this match as well. Out were Vana Alves, the unfit Matysik and Junior, Marhiev, the injured Caju, Mayambela, Moussounda, and Nikolic, as well as Gomis and Yago, who were in the squad but did not play.
Clearly, the coach and his staff have spotted several aspects of the game to work on with the players, and they will focus on these in the coming days.
