It is with deep sorrow that the Aris family was informed about the passing of our former President and devoted servant of the Club, Doros Ieropoulos, who passed away at the age of 89.
For more than three decades, Doros Ieropoulos served Aris with dedication in various roles. A leading figure, visionary and pioneer in many fields of Cyprus’ business and social life, his name remains inextricably linked with the history of our Club.
He began his association with Aris as a player in the 1950s and later contributed from the Board of Directors, serving for many years as Head of the football department and twice as Club President. During his tenure, Aris achieved its highest league position at the time, establishing the team as a significant force in Cypriot football.
Under his leadership, Aris reached the Cypriot Cup final in the late 1980s, while he was also the man who brought the legendary Oleg Blokhin to Cyprus to play for our Club.
Through his actions and unwavering commitment, Doros Ieropoulos left an indelible mark on the history of Aris, setting an enduring example of dedication and service.
May his memory be eternal. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family.
