A very promising young generation seems to be hatching in our youth system since our kid’s team born in 2009 (under 13) is riding high towards the knock-out stage.
Our team, under the guidance of former ARIS player Panagiotis Varellas, are in the top spot of the “Grassroots Eagles” championship in Limassol, just a few games before the completion of the league. To be more specific, ARIS is the league leader with 31 points - Anorthosis lies 2nd with the same number of points - but has two games in hand. Eight teams compete in the Limassol district championship. ARIS has two games on hand compared to Anorthosis, which is just one game away from completing their games.
Therefore, it’s likely that our team will end up in the top spot and secure their place in the knock-out stage, having the chance to fight for the top spot in the country in the relevant category.
In addition, ARIS statistics are really impressive. Having played 11 games so far, ARIS is the sole undefeated team in the championship, having 10 victories and only one draw. At the same time, our team has the best offence by far, having scored 65 goals (18 more compared to the 2nd best record) and the best defence, having conceded only 4 goals.
The places for the knock-out stage will be secured for the top two teams from Limassol, the top three from Nicosia and the top one from Larnaca and Famagusta. The 8th team will be decided with a knock-out game between the teams that will end up in the 3rd place from Limassol group and the 4th from Nicosia group.
