Alexei Shpilevsky completes today the one-year mark as Aris head coach. The Belarusian coach officially took over the reins of the team one year ago, on February 28, 2022, replacing Liasos Louka and was introduced before the media at a press conference. His official debut as head coach took place 5 days later, on March 5 in the opening match of the group stage of the first group, against APOEL at G.S.P. (1-1). Since then, the young coach has achieved a lot and managed to write his name in the team's history as the coach who led Aris to Europe for the first time in its history!
Shpilevsky got his name on Aris history book as the coach who guided the team in their first European games. In his first "full" season, he managed to build a team that delivered spectacular, attacking football, while also combining substance as he secured Aris' presence in the first group of the playoffs for the second consecutive season. The 35-year-old coach was in charge for a total of 38 official matches, with a record of 18 wins, 13 draws and 7 defeats. Shpilevsky’s numbers are even more impressive in the current season. In a total of 28 games in all competitions (25 in the championship, 2 in Europa Conference League and 1 in the cup) he’s counting 15 victories, 8 draws and 5 defeats. Those 15 victories gave a winning percentage of 54%, the draws 28% and defeats are only 18% of the games. In addition, Aris effectiveness in scoring is launched sky high in the current season considering that our team scored 48 goals in 28 official games!
