Solid performance despite the defeat

Aris FC put up a strong resistance against a traditional Italian Serie A club such as Udinese - but in the end we couldn’t avoid the defeat by 1-0. Despite the defeat, Shpileuski's players put in a great effort on the pitch, both in the first and second half and despite creating some big chances in the second half, they failed to convert any of them into goals.

The fact that Aris looked into the eyes of the Italian powerhouse -whose official obligations start in 10 days-, fully justifies the satisfaction that was the dominant feeling after the match.

Aliaksei Shpileuski, against a team from the top level, saw his players get a lot of what he is looking for right, although there is certainly room for improvement on an individual and team level.

In the first half, our team stood up quite well against the ball not allowing Udinese to threaten to score, but also without being dangerous in their box either. However, the Italians managed to convert their chance with Da Silva in 41, following our own mistake.

In the second half and despite the many changes made by both teams, Aris FC was the better team and the ones who created the more chances to score but without sucess.

Aliaksei Shpileuski FC fielded the following players: Zadro (46' Sofroniou), Correia (60' Boakye), Urosevic (60' Loucoubar), Goldson (46' Sané), Yago (60' Moussounda), Bengtsson (60' Montnor), Struski (60' Sarfo), Nikolic (60' Matysik), Mayambela (60' Semedo), Gomis (60' Kvilitaia), Kokorin (60' Sawo).
