Aris Limassol celebrates a remarkable milestone: for the first time in nearly 45 years, the club has three players in the Cyprus Men’s National Team — Anderson Correia, Andronikos Kakoullis, and Charalambos Charalambous.
The last time Aris achieved this feat was on October 11, 1980, during the 1982 World Cup qualifiers against France, featuring stars such as Michel Platini. In that match at Tsirion Stadium, Aris contributed three starting players: Marios Tsingis, Andreas Kissonergis, and Andreas Papakostas.
This historic achievement highlights the club’s ongoing contribution to international football. In addition to these three, six other Aris players have been called up for national duty with their respective countries at various levels: Adam Marhiev (Finland), Gedeon Kalulu (Democratic Republic of the Congo), Steeve Yago (Burkina Faso), Jaden Montnor (Suriname), Milosz Matysik (Poland U21), and Michalis Theodosiou (Cyprus U21).
Congratulations guys. Keep up the good work!
