Kalulu plays as a right-back and is a product of Lyon’s academy, where he developed from 2007 to 2013. From 2015 to 2018, he featured for Lyon B.
Between 2019 and 2022, he played in France’s Ligue 2 with AC Ajaccio, making 85 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
In the summer of 2022, he transferred to FC Lorient, competing in Ligue 1 for two seasons (2022–23 and 2023–24), during which he made 48 appearances and provided 5 assists.
During the 2024–25 season, he played 20 matches for Lorient in Ligue 2, helping the club secure promotion back to Ligue 1.
At international level, he has represented the Democratic Republic of the Congo since October 2020, and was a key starter in all matches of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where DR Congo reached the semi-finals of the tournament.
