The captain of the Cyprus national team has joined our club from Hellas Verona on loan until the end of the 2025–26 season.
Grigoris Kastanos began his football journey at Onisilos Sotira, the club from his hometown, before moving to Enosis Neon Paralimni. His talent was identified at a young age by Italian giants Juventus, who brought him into their academy at just 16 years old.
During the 2016–17 season, in January 2017, he was loaned to Pescara, where only days later he made his Serie A debut at the age of 19. The following campaign, he spent six months on loan at Belgian side Zulte Waregem before returning to join Juventus U23.
In the 2018–19 season, Kastanos made his league debut with Juventus’ first team. Two further loan spells followed: first at Pescara in 2019–20 and then at Frosinone in 2020–21.
In the summer of 2021, he joined Salernitana, initially on loan and later on a permanent transfer. He remained with the Italian club until the summer of 2024, when he completed a move to Hellas Verona.
During the first half of the current 2025–26 season, he made eight appearances across league and cup competitions.
Overall, Kastanos has made 123 Serie A appearances, registering seven goals and nine assists.
At international level, he has represented the Cyprus national team since 2015, earning 76 caps and scoring eight goals to date.
