Victor Kovalenko joined our team from Italy, having competed in Serie A over the past four years. He spent the last two seasons with FC Empoli, while previously he played for Spezia Calcio for two years.
A product of Shakhtar Donetsk’s academy, he was regarded as one of the brightest talents of his generation. In 2015, he made his debut for Shakhtar’s first team. During his six years with the club, he made a total of 199 appearances across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 12 assists, while winning 4 league titles, 4 national cups, and 2 Super Cups.
At the international level, he has represented Ukraine at every youth level and has been a member of the senior national team since 2016, earning 33 caps to date.
