Aris completed the pre-season and the friendly games in Latvia with a victory. Our team beat Riga II 5-1, having five different players on the score sheet. However, the first thing that mattered was not the result, as the opponent's strength was not worthy of any special analysis. Besides, in this game, as in the one against FK Metta on Wednesday, the coach emphasized on the tactical aspect of the game and how the team reacts with and against the ball. Aliaksei Shpileuski was quite satisfied with the overall effort, as more time (and games) is needed for the players to be able to adapt 100% to his wishes regarding the team's style of play.
On the positive side for our team, the fact that five different players managed to score. Gomis opened the score at 27'. Five minutes later, Struski made it 2-0, and just before the end of the first half, (44') Montnor scored the third.
Aris played with a different eleven in the second half, but continued to fully control the match. In the 70th minute, Leo Bengtsson increased the score to 4-0 and two minutes later, in the 72nd minute, Semedo made it 5-0. All the Latvians could do, was to pull one back, making in the 75’ for the final score 5-1.
Our starting eleven were: Zadro, Boakye, Moussounda, Aboubacar, Covacev, Mayambela(30’ Karagezov), Struski, Matysik, Montnor, Gomis, Kokorin.
The line-up for the second half were: Pisias, Sane, Yago, Urosevic, Correia, Semedo, Nikolic, Sarfo, Bengtsson, Spoljaric, Theocharous.
This was the last time the players of our team trained in Latvia. Tomorrow morning the delegation will fly to Cyprus and is expected in Larnaca just before noon.
