A single goal by Ioanna Chamalidou in the 82th minute was enough for ARIS women’s team to celebrate the victory over Pafos Geroskipou FC Ladies with 1-0.
The joy of the victory though was shadowed by the serious leg injury of our captain Demetra Karapetsa. Early in the second half she suffered a torn cruciate ligament.
Into the game ARIS was the better team during the whole 90 minutes but found it hard to convert the chances they created. On the other hand, the home team did not managed to thread our goalkeeper.
Mike Eracleous squad were even more demanding in the second half and managed to score a late goal which proved enough for the team to seal the victory and claim the three points. ARIS is now in the 5th place of the ranking with 22 points in 12 games.
ARIS next game is set on Sunday, February 27th against Lakatamia FC at Agios Tychonas municipal stadium.
