The Aris delegation had the opportunity this afternoon to test their swing and drive, and to try for par or a birdie. Yes, you understood correctly, the afternoon programme in Kössen, Austria included golf!
Essentially, it was a team activity aimed at helping everyone unwind from the demanding daily training sessions and matches, while at the same time providing a very good opportunity for everyone – players, coaches and staff – to bond with each other, away from the stress and pressure of training.
In the morning, however, the programme included a regular training session on the pitch, with small-sided games such as rondos and a variation of handball (goals had to be scored with a header), as well as work on set pieces.
Meanwhile, the news from the MRI scan undergone yesterday by Vana Alves was not pleasant. The experienced goalkeeper suffered a Grade 2 injury to the acromioclavicular joint, and his absence is estimated at four to six weeks.
