Aris Limassol announces the signing of Brazilian winger Werton de Almeida Rego on a one-year loan from Portuguese club Leixões SC. The Club also holds an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan spell.
Werton, 22, was born on 16 September 2003 and plays primarily as a winger. At the age of nine, he joined the academy of Brazilian giants CR Flamengo, where he progressed through the youth ranks before signing his first professional contract at the age of 17. Just a few months later, he made his senior debut for Flamengo, having been regarded as one of the Club's brightest young talents.
During his time with Flamengo, Werton won the Campeonato Carioca in the 2023/24 season and the Copa do Brasil in 2024. He made 12 first-team appearances, scoring one goal. Between 2020 and 2024, he was also a key player for Flamengo's Under-20 side, recording 45 appearances, 10 goals and one assist.
In the summer of 2024, Werton joined Portuguese side Leixões SC. Over two seasons, he made 66 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists. During the 2025/26 campaign, he featured in 29 matches, registering two goals and two assists.
At international level, Werton has represented Brazil at Under-18 level, making three appearances and scoring one goal.
