Samples of Aliaxei Shpileyvski’s ARIS were shown in our team’s first friendly game in Latvia against FC Riga 2. High pressure in the opponents' 1/3 and trying to retrieve the ball quickly in the same space were the key elements shown by our team.
Of course, there have been mistakes as well as some moments of inconsistent marking that gave few but clear chances to the opponents, which were stopped by our goalkeepers.
The opponent was not considerably strong, and this fact does not allow safe conclusions to be drawn. On the other hand, in regard to our players, fatigue must be taken into consideration due to the number and tense of training sessions. The ARIS players also had one more practice in the morning before the game.
Among the many positives is the fact that we scored twice with headers. Also important is the fact that several important players did not participate in the match.
Finally, Brorsson's injury, which forced him to be replaced early (30'), does not appear to be serious. It was a hit in the back that caused him a lot of instant pain.
