Victory on the 1st friendly vs Huddersfield

Aris FC kicked off the friendly games in Austria in the right foot but the most important was the performance which was really promising. In the game against English side Huddersfield Town, Aris performed really good both in 1st and 2nd half and won by 4-2. If we take into account the quality of the opponent and the fact that Aris came into the game having two training sessions per day on Saturday and Monday, gave every right to the head coach Aliaksei Shpileuski to feel really satisfied from what he saw.

Of course, there is always room for improvement, but there were many positive elements that cannot be ignored. Such as the four goals scored by the team, the two assists by Kokorin, the goals by newcomers Kvilitaia and Kovacev, and the fact that the coach used practically two different teams in each half without losing its competitiveness.

Aris opened the score at 11' with Bengtsson and at 25' Struski doubled Aris' lead. The opponents pulled one back from the penalty spot in the 41st minute and that was the half time score. Early in the second half, the Englishmen tied the score at 2-2, but Kvilitaia in 61' and Kovacev in 81' made the final score 4-2.

In the first half our team started with: Zadro, Correia, Urosevic, Yago, Sane, Bengtsson, Struski, Matysik, Mayambela, Gomis and Kokorin.

In the second half, Aliaksei Shpileuski changed the team entirely with the exception of goalkeeper Mislav Zadro. The 10 new faces were, Demetriou, Loukoubar, Moussounda, Boakye, Sarfo, Nikolic, Montnor, Brown (75' Kovacev), Semedo and Kvilitaia (75' Chrysostomou).
