Aris completed its first pre-season training camp in Latvia with a 1-0 victory over JDFA Alberts.
Our team controlled the match from start to finish and, despite the narrow scoreline, created numerous chances to extend its lead.
The only goal of the game came in the 22nd minute, when Effaghe set up Gaustad, who calmly finished past the Latvian side's goalkeeper.
For the first half, Artem Radkov fielded the following starting XI: Zadro, Sané, Matysik, Lellé, César, Panagiotou (Galyata 35'), Akamba, El Allachi, Gaustad, Pajé and Effaghe.
Nine changes were made at the start of the second half, with Pishias, Demetriou, Loukoumbar, Correia, Trimintis, Kassianidis, Purikkos, Neokleous and Hadjigiannis entering the match. Galyata and Akamba continued from the opening half, with the latter being replaced by Theodosiou in the 66th minute.
Despite the extensive changes, Aris maintained its attacking approach throughout the second half and created at least three or four more clear-cut opportunities, but was unable to add to its tally.
Defensively, the team was rarely troubled, with the only notable threat coming from a second-half free-kick that struck the post.
Vana Alves, Charalambous, Yago, Nikolić and Ovsyannikov were not included in the matchday squad.
The players have now been given a three-day break before regrouping on Wednesday for the start of the club's second pre-season training camp in Poland.
