A 2-1 defeat for our team in today's very close game against Hungarian MOL Fehervar. The friendly was held at the same stadium where we beat Aris Thessaloniki 1-0 a few days ago.
In the first half Aris came out stronger and controlled the game. Gomis missed a unique chance in the 8th minute when he was one-on-one with goalkeeper Ádám Kovácsik after a pass from Spoljaric, but he sent the ball out.
In the 10th minute, Spoljaric had a good shot that didn't cause much trouble for Kovácsik.
Fehervar's first counter-attack in the 15th minute, managed to get a penalty kick after Petryak was tripped over by Yago. Kodro showed a great kick, and they opened the score.
The team was not affected by the goal and managed to tie the game at 1-1 in the 24th minute. Morgan Brown took a cross from the left and Matija Spoljaric headed the ball nicely into Kovacsik's net.
The tempo of the game then dropped off and on a set piece again Petryak from the left gave a ready goal again to Kodro, who scored from a close range to make it 2-1.
Struski had a nice chance to make it draw at 44 but he marked the crossbar after shooting just inside the wide area.
In the second half Mr. Spilevski made 10 substitutions. With a different formation, our team tried to score another one. They had two chances through Theodoros Iosifidis, Dede Lhomme and Franz Brorsson.
Our coach, as he has done in all our friendly games so far, used two different teams of eleven in each half.
Next friendly game on July 14 against Dnipro of Ukraine.
